ROOSTERS REP PROGRAM

Our Club continues to be committed to facilitating enjoyment in the game of touch football, the representative pathways of touch football, and elevating all players to the highest level of the sport.

 In continuation of our club’s representative program, for player development and in preparation for the upcoming representative season, we are excited to announce the Roosters Academy is back for 2026!

What is the Academy?

Open to all Easts players of all ages, the Roosters Academy is 1 hour of skills and games on Sunday mornings alongside the Easts Winter Touch competition at Queens Park.

The program is run by our Easts Roosters nationally accredited rep coaches and representative players.

The purpose of the Academy is to develop your touch football game, focusing on evolving your game from a foundational level to the talent/elite level, all in a fun environment.

Whether it is learning to play the sport, refining a skill or developing a greater technical understanding of touch football, the Academy will provide the opportunity for all players to learn something new each and every week from the best coaches and senior players.

From here, you will be able to take the key skills you have learnt and develop them in the park competitions, to help elevate you to the next representative level.

Some of the areas that the Academy will teach include the fundamentals of passing, catching, running, and agility and will grow into the greater skill areas of touch, including attacking plays, defence, general game awareness, and teamwork.

For the elite program, along with the foundational skills, players will learn the more technical aspects of the game including elite level individual and team defence, elite plays and variations, positional play and touch strategies.
